“But what kind of books do you read to the children?” the teachers asked me after I had presented a section on bedtime routines for helping the students in their boarding schools prepare for the night.
These teachers in China live with their students in rural communities, students as young as first graders and as old as twelfth graders. Like most children, the teachers told me, their boys and girls have trouble getting to bed and asleep each night. What I did not realize is these teachers have only textbooks and Bible available for the evening story time.
This quarter the Children’s Sabbath School classes are collecting a second mission offering to get some Adventist story books for these children on the other side of the world. We are working with the Chinese Union Mission to get some good story books for our young friends in China.
